Staff

Mark Brackstone – Managing Director
Originally an apprentice served bricklayer by trade, with over 30 years experience in the building industry is responsible for the overall management of the company. He will always give potential and existing customers sound, helpful advice.

Mike Mortimer – Contracts Director
Mike is a partner in the business and is responsible for the overall running of the projects. Mike will usually be personally supervising a project. He is a bricklayer by trade with a comprehensive knowledge of most aspects of the industry and a wealth of experience and is always in demand.

Bev Mundy – Office Manager/Credit Controller/PA
Bev is a cheerful, capable member of the team and is our front of house and your first point of contact. Always under pressure Bev will do everything she can to help and after 13 years with Brackstones has quite a broad knowledge of the building trade and terminology.

Graham Crutchley (Fred) – Foreman
Fred is our most experienced member of staff with in excess of 40 years in the trade. Always friendly and capable, Fred can turn his hand to most tasks and is well liked by everyone. He has a good sense of humour and invariably has a grin on his face!

Ken Giddings- General Operative
Ken can turn his hand to most tasks and goes out of his way to help others be it staff members, customers or just a member of the public. Ken carries a wide range of skills and is a very experienced operative.

Nick Keefe - Senior Carpenter/Foreman
Nick has been a loyal and valued member of staff for over 20 years. He is always happy and is a very capable member of the team. His knowledge is quite vast and he is more than capable of running both large and small projects. Quiet and thoughtful with a good sense of humour repeat customers often ask for Nick’s presence on their latest project.

David Bennett – Bricklayer
David came to Brackstones from school and served a 3 year apprenticeship before qualifying in 2005. David is helpful, versatile and is now more than capable of running smaller projects. He is a valued member of the team with good prospects.

Ricky King - Plaster
Ricky is our plasterer and specialises in various aspects of plasterwork. Ricky is a pleasant, cheerful and conscientious member of staff who is always willing. Customers and his work mates always speak very highly of him and we get many letters of thanks for his efforts.

Graham Dawkins – General All Rounder
Graham has worked for the company for 4 years and is without doubt our most versatile member of staff. Graham is actually a bricklayer, but he could hold his own against most carpenters and plasterers, turning out a good quality job. Graham will step up to the mark as foreman with equal enthusiasm.

Subcontractors

Gerald Harden - Carpenter
Gerald is an ex employee who still works for Brackstones on a free lance basis. Gerald is a very experienced and conscientious worker who constantly turns out a very high quality job.

Alastair Bramwell - Plumbing and Heating
Alastair carries out the majority of our plumbing and heating. He will always give clients good, sound advice and will never take a short cut. Alastair has two operatives of his own and carries all the Oftec, Corgi and other qualifications.

Jimmy Little – Bricklayer
Jimmy is a friendly, experienced bricklayer and mason, being capable of a wide range of tasks. He takes great pride in his workmanship and works quickly and tidily.

Mark Elmes - NICEIC registered electrical contractor
Mark has a small electrical business and has two employees. They carry out their projects in an efficient, friendly manner. Customers always enjoy Mark’s sense of humour and his respect for their property. Both of Mark’s operatives are capable and helpful and work efficiently.

Neil Lyons – NICEIC registered electrical contractor
Neil has a small electrical business and works alongside his son. He ran a large electrical business in London before moving to Wiltshire where he is now based. He has a very in-depth knowledge of the industry and can give sound advice on all aspects of your installation. He very often goes out of his way to please.

Garry Aplin – Painter/Decorator
Garry is not just a painter but a true decorator as well, being capable of high class paper hanging, artexing etc. He is also an accomplished floor and wall tiler. His father works for him when he is not busy with his own work. Garry will very often go that extra mile to give you a finish everyone can be proud to see.

Paul Cottrell – Double Glazing and uPVC
Over the last 5 years we have used Paul, who has been in business himself for 15 years. Paul has a very broad knowledge of uPVC windows, conservatories and all glazing. Always helpful and polite with a good quality job left behind.
