Timber Frame Repairs to Old Property

Extensive oak splices and substantial repairs to a 300 year old property in Marston, carried out using traditional materials and lime mortar.  Work comprised of major plate repairs and replacing the corner post in its entirety whilst maintaining the integrity of this interesting old building.

Large Refurb with Extensions

We constructed two natural stone extensions and completely gutted and refurbished the existing property together with landscaping the gardens and constructing a new build garage with office over.

New Build Garage with Office Over

We built this office/store in the garden of a property in Biddestone. The building is constructed of concrete block rendered in stone dust with Ashlar quoins.  This construction was acceptable to the Planners as it was adjacent to a Listed building, whilst keeping the job within a tight budget for this element of the project.

Stone Garage/Store

We demolished a few old walls and salvaged the stone.  We constructed this beautiful garage/store adjacent to a Listed barn conversion near Southwick Trowbridge.

Listed Barn Conversion

We started with 4no. walls pretty much and renovated these existing walls and extended them up. We formed openings and repointed the exterior.  A new roof was formed and tiled with imitation stone tiles.

We created 3no. garages, a log store and ancillary accommodation on the first floor.

Two Extensions Steeple Ashton

We were commissioned to construct an extension on one property when the neighbours met and decided that they would both like pretty much the same job.

We liaised with both and negotiated the contracts achieving good savings as a result of the increased volume of work.  We demolished both kitchens and rigged up temporary services for the duration.

Wessex Water Control Room

We generally concentrate on domestic projects however a main contractor was let down and one of their Directors contacted us, knowing we could handle high class brickwork.  We constructed the control rooms on this reservoir.

Barn Fire Rebuild

Following a severe fire, which destroyed an old milking parlour used for garaging, storage and office space we were commissioned by the client and his insurers to rebuild the barn and bring it back to its original state.

Conversion of Listed Stone Store to Garage and Annexe Biddestone.

For many years Brackstones have had a high presence in Biddestone due to recommendations.  Here we partially demolished and rebuilt an old stone store to create a garage/games room with accommodation.

Large garden room, structural alterations and patios

We were commissioned to remove a bay window and construct a garden room in Steeple Ashton, with patent glazing incorporated. The patios are Indian Sandstone. The scheme is sympathetic to the style of the property. Substantial alterations internally were also carried out to this relatively modern property.

Inglenook Fireplace found hidden

Whilst carrying out the complete renovation of an old farmhouse we uncovered an old inglenook fireplace. This was completely renovated and refurbished forming a superb feature for a delighted client.

Oak Splicing and Lime Pointing on an old Tudor property

Old timber framed buildings require considerable maintenance. This client keeps on top of oak repairs and lime pointing to preserve this beautiful historic building, which we are proud to maintain.

New Oak Door

We provided and fitted this oak door and frame to a period property in Steeple Ashton.

Porch Poulshot

Brackstone repointed the front of this Listed building in lime mortar and constructed an open bay porch to client’s design. This greatly enhanced the front elevation of the property.

High Class Garden Room annexe

Our services were employed to construct a freestanding garden room annexe alongside a bubbling stream in the village of Bratton.  This new building provided ancillary accommodation and replaced a tatty brick store. Working alongside a stream was challenging.

Large New Stone Extension Lacock

We constructed a large stone extension to a modest bungalow in the charming village of Lacock. The bungalow will be the subject of a later project we imagine.  Much of the work both internally and externally is very ornate with a lot of attention to detail required.

Small Rear Garden Makeover Devizes

After the purchase of a terraced property the clients contacted us to give their overgrown, messy garden a makeover with new fence etc.  The access was poor but we completed the job in a week.

Garden Room Extension to an Oriental Style House

We constructed this large garden room extension to a local architect’s design to be in keeping with the oriental style of the existing property.
